3 months before your 65th birthday you should log in to Medicare.gov or call 1-800-Medicare to get the process started. You will need to know if you will continue to work and claim employer benefits for your health insurance or if you plan to retire and claim both parts A & B or continue to work and claim part B in place of your employer benefits. 

You will also want to find a plan that works well with your required healthcare and prescription drug needs.
